Casa Latina was founded in 1994 with a mission to advance the power of Latino immigrants through educational and economic opportunities.

Our programs are unique in that they combine direct services with community organizing, helping Latino immigrants meet their immediate needs and become key spokespeople in the fight to build a more equitable future for all immigrants.

About the Role

The Development and Communications Director of Casa Latina is a key member of the leadership team, working closely with the Co-Executive Director of People and Organization, members of the board of directors, and broadly across the organization to lead Casa Latina’s fundraising and communications efforts in order to grow relationships and revenues that drive our mission.

The Development and Communications Director will be a leader in fundraising, event planning, marketing, board development, and general organizational advancement.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a development team of three to grow contributed revenues well beyond the current goals of approximately $400,000 per year.
  • Lead communications efforts to grow awareness and engagement throughout the community.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive fundraising and communications plans.
  • Lead the annual fundraising event planning, including managing outside vendors to execute aspects of the event.
  • Act as relationship holder for key individual major donors, as well as institutional funders and partners.
  • Participate in funder proposal development and reporting processes.
  • Appear regularly at board meetings and provide reports on progress of all development and communications activities

Qualifications

Casa Latina is looking for a candidate who will drive success in Casa Latina’s fundraising and communications activities.

Key qualifications for this role are:

  • Commitment to Casa Latina’s mission and demonstrated commitment to social justice.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders including volunteers, employers, staff, and members.
  • Experience raising money in a nonprofit organization and working with nonprofit boards.
  • Supervision experience and ability to recruit, inspire and lead a team.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.

 

Compensation

Compensation for this role will range between $80,000-$85,000 and will include a full benefits package of health and dental coverage, employer retirement contribution match, vacation and other paid time off.
