Since late last year, Casa Latina has been part of a work group organized by Labor & Industries. The goal of this group is to investigate how to create a system so domestic workers and day laborers can have access to workers compensation, due to working in private residences, these workers have no protection or support if they experience work-related injuries.
Several members of Casa Latina have been able to take part in these meetings to share their experiences with Labor & Industries about why having workers compensation protection for all workers is essential.
