The Domestic Workers Bill of Rights has passed both the House and Senate and is awaiting the governor's signature to become law.

Today, domestic workers across Washington made history.
The Statewide Domestic Workers Bill of Rights (HB 2355) has officially passed both chambers of the legislature (Senate and House). We now await the Governor’s signature to make Washington the 13th state in the nation to extend fundamental workplace protections to domestic workers.
This is a tremendous victory.
For too long, nannies, caregivers, house cleaners, and gardeners have been excluded from basic labor standards. This legislation secures minimum wage protections, safeguards against retaliation and discrimination, the right to keep personal documents, written agreements, and meaningful tools for enforcement.
This moment belongs to the resilient domestic workers who organized across industries and communities, testified, shared their stories, and built momentum year after year.

We are deeply grateful to our incredible coalition partners, dedicated volunteers, and the many Casa Latina members and staff who rallied every step of the way to help move this forward. We also extend sincere thanks to bill sponsor Representative Brianna Thomas and Senator Rebecca Saldaña for their leadership in championing this legislation.
Casa Latina is proud to have stood alongside workers in this organizing effort and to be part of this historic milestone.
By closing this long-standing gap in labor law, we are strengthening protections for working people across Washington and affirming that everyone deserves dignity and fairness at work.
Mil gracias for being part of our movement.🦋
